Brianna Tocci
Law Clerk
Originally from Needham, Massachusetts, Brianna relocated to the Nation’s capital to pursue a career in family, criminal, and child exploitation law. She earned a 3-year Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, where she was part of the Justice and Legal Thought Scholars program. While there, Brianna worked as a legal research assistant, consultant on course redesign, and teaching assistant for a family law course, and worked on the first of three published textbooks that she has researched, edited, and written for. She also won an award and scholarship from her honors program for her research project on community-centered, family-based approaches to juvenile delinquency prevention. Brianna earned her Juris Doctor Degree from American University Washington College of Law, where she was the President of the Family Law Society. To gain practical experience, Brianna interned with the Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, clerked for a Judge in the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland, where she wrote and published a judicial order and memorandum, and worked as a Student Attorney, prosecuting misdemeanor criminal cases, through the number two clinical program in the country. Now with The Halks Firm, Brianna utilizes her writing and litigation skills to help families, individuals, and children through the legal process. In her free time, Brianna enjoys snowboarding, playing tennis, and sifting through the latest true crime literature, film, and podcasts.
