About

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Lydia graduated summa cum laude from Framingham State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and a Minor in Psychology in 2021. She then went on to graduate cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 2024. Lydia’s professional legal experience started with interning at Rubenstein & Associates, P.C., a busy residential real estate firm. She was then promoted to Law Clerk during her second year of law school, and became an Associate Attorney after passing the Massachusetts Bar Exam in 2024. During Lydia’s last year of law school, she was an S.J.C. Rule 303 certified attorney for Suffolk's Juvenile Defenders Clinic. Lydia joined The Halks Firm in January of 2025 to follow her passions in the speciality of family law.

Lydia’s real estate experience gives her invaluable knowledge to issues with the division of real estate pursuant to divorce. Her skills and connections with the real estate industry have helped clients seamlessly sell the marital home in an efficient manner, detailing the rights and responsibilities of each party, to avoid disagreements and disputes throughout the sale process. Lydia’s proficiency in real estate has also helped clients retain the marital home. This has allowed many of Lydia’s clients to refinance or assume an existing mortgage to keep her client and any respective children in the home they know and love, which avoids disruptions to the family unit.

Lydia’s juvenile court experience gives her a unique perspective into child custody cases with DCF and/or Guardian ad Litem involvement. Lydia has been successful in advising clients through this very stressful process to obtain favorable outcomes. Lydia has also been faced with several challenging reports that have already been conducted and reviewed by the Court. Lydia’s precision and attention to detail has helped change the narrative being used against her clients, calling into question the reports reliability and validity.

Lydia is also our go-to associate for prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She takes the time to discuss the clients needs, desires, and wishes regarding the terms of the agreement, advises on the benefits and consequences of each term, and counsels clients on the default rules pursuant to a divorce.

2025 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Participated in three (3) divorce trials as second chair
  • Seven (7) cases settled prior to trial
  • Two (2) guilty verdicts on Complaints for Contempt
